A new tricorder of the Stanford University can be used to detect cancer at an early stage.
The tricorder makes use of microwaves. These microwaves travel through the body, and, for example, a tumor may heat a thousandth of a degree. This is still well within safety margins. Owing to this heating the tumor puts out, whereby ultrasonic waves are being produced. The tricorder captures these waves, causing the exact location of the tumor can be determined. Another five years of future music
Although the scientists in their experiment used a piece of meat like material, they hope in the future to test the tricorder on people. "We have been working for about two years at this tricorder," says researcher Khuri-Yakub of Stanford University. "The device is still in an early stage, but we are convinced that the tricorder over five to fifteen years is available."
