At the conference, the developers of modular smartphone Google Project Ara Developers Conference Internet giant introduced the Spiral 2 - the first version of the modular smartphone, which gets to the retail sale. At the same time, Google has opened the main specs.

The device is the display with a resolution of 720 x 1280 pixels, two CPU (Marvell PXA1928 and NVIDIA Tegra K1), a 5 megapixel camera, as well as wireless modules 3G, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. The "initial" kit also includes battery and speaker. After starting the machine on sale shoppers will be able to replace it for more than 30 modules, and over time the number of available modules will grow.
As we reported, Google will begin selling a prototype modular smartphone Project Ara in the second half of this year in Puerto Rico. Sales will be conducted in a pilot testing apparatus. The next prototype will be called Spiral 3, and of the improvements it is expected more capacious battery, 4G LTE module and inductive coupling system modules.
